His story
The musician behind Kalanidhi
Dr. T. S. Satish Kumar is recognised as the world's fastest pianist, having played 2,454 piano notes in a single minute - a rate of 47 notes per second across both hands. The feat has been certified by more than fifteen record registries and is among 100-plus honours to his name.
His training runs unusually deep and unusually wide. He holds a PhD and a Doctorate in Music, along with an M.Sc, M.Phil and B.Ed, and was awarded a doctorate in record-breaking by Tamil University. He has earned Grade 8 from Trinity College London in two instruments - Keyboard and Drums - and holds diplomas in classical vocal and tabla, with command of flute and guitar as well.
Beyond the records, he is a patient teacher. At Kalanidhi he has built a school where students of every age are guided from their first note to the concert stage and the graded examination hall.
